My favorite farm near Brandon, Vermont is my common subject. The barns string out along the curving east-west road and the Greens rise in gentle curves behind them. The sun was setting fast and the foreground was deeply in shadow but the last rays still made the snow-covered mountains glow.
I painted this from a photo, taken quickly because of the extreme cold.
